Your check-up at Calm & Gentle
A routine check-up takes 20–30 minutes. It's the simplest way to catch small problems before they become painful or expensive. Most patients come every 6 to 12 months; we'll recommend what's right for you.
What we check
- Every tooth, for decay, wear and cracks
- Your gums, for early signs of gum disease
- Existing fillings, crowns and implants
- Your bite and jaw joints
- The soft tissues of your mouth, including an oral cancer screening
If anything needs attention, we explain your options and the cost before we do anything. If all is well, you're done.
Children's check-ups
We see children from their first teeth. Check-ups for children aged 0 to 18 are kept short and friendly, so they grow up comfortable with the dentist.
Pair it with the hygienist
Many patients book a hygiene appointment on the same visit, to keep gums healthy and teeth clean.
Check-up FAQs
How often should I have a check-up? Usually every 6 to 12 months, depending on your teeth and gums.
Are X-rays included? Yes. The routine exam price includes any X-rays you need and a treatment plan.
I'm nervous. Can I still come? Of course. Tell us when you book, and we'll take it slowly and explain each step.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
A refundable deposit of £25 must be taken to secure our complimentary consultations. On arrival this will be refunded or, it can be left on account and used towards any treatment you may decide to choose.
We offer in-house financing for ongoing large sum treatments. Please feel free to speak with us and see if you qualify - we're happy to help! Alternatively, we've partnered with GoCardless where you can quickly and easily apply for financing through them.
MEMBERS PLAN | FINANCING
All routine dental treatment is included and you'll receive priority access to see your dentist in the event of an emergency. Our Members Plan covers preventative care, identifying potential problems and reducing the risk of pain. You'll have access to our 24 hour dental emergency helpline 365 days a year.
